The second volume expands on the first and is organized by Art works, Autobiography, Biography, History, Magazines and periodicals, Congressional documents, Novels and tales, Poetry, Religion, Travels, Miscellaneous, Old books, Scrap books, and Odd volumes. Most of the books in Scofield's library were dispersed after his death, but a number of rare volumes were presented to the Athenaeum in 1950 by his daughter, Cora L. Scofield.
