Catalogs of his private library. Both volumes give author, title, number, and price. The first volume has entries organized by Autobiography, Biography, History, Magazines and periodicals, Novels and tales, Poetry, Religion, Travel, Miscellaneous, Old works in Greek and Latin, Art works, and 1st editions, scarce, curios, rare. The second volume expands on the first and is organized by Art works, Autobiography, Biography, History, Magazines and periodicals, Congressional documents, Novels and tales, Poetry, Religion, Travels, Miscellaneous, Old books, Scrap books, and Odd volumes. Most of the books in Scofield's library were dispersed after his death, but a number of rare volumes were presented to the Athenaeum in 1950 by his daughter, Cora L. Scofield.
